Help & FAQ
How can we help?
Short, direct answers to the questions students and placement officers ask us most. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Write to your college’s placement office or contact@praveshika.ai and we’ll add it here.
Getting started
What you need before your first practice round.
How do I start a practice interview?
Go to the interview room, pick your branch and target role, tick the consent box, and press Start interview. The whole flow takes about 25–35 minutes for 8 questions including the PDF report at the end.
What do I need before I start?
A laptop or desktop with a working webcam and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a reasonably quiet space. Headphones help if you’re in a shared room. Phone browsers technically work but the experience is built for a laptop screen.
How long does one interview take?
Around 25–35 minutes end-to-end. Each question lasts 90 seconds on average, and the PDF report is rendered in another 20–25 seconds after the last answer.
Can I practise in Telugu?
Yes — set the answer language to Auto detect and answer in whichever you’re comfortable with. The interviewer’s voice plays in English by default; we’ll still grade Telugu and English answers fairly. Hindi support is on the roadmap, not yet shipped.
During the interview
When something doesn't behave the way you expect.
Why isn't my microphone working?
Browser permission is the usual cause. Click the lock icon next to the URL → make sure Microphone is set to Allow, then refresh. If you’re on Chrome and recently changed audio devices, also check that the right device is selected at the OS level. We’ll show an explicit error message now if mic access is denied.
The interviewer's voice is silent — what's happening?
We use a premium AI voice first, then fall back to your browser’s built-in voice if it’s briefly unreachable. If you hear nothing at all, click Play question manually — some browsers (Safari, Firefox) block autoplay until you interact with the page once.
Can I redo a question I just answered?
Not within the same session — once an answer is submitted it counts toward your final score. You can press Restart at any time to throw away the current session and start fresh, or finish this round and start a new one from your progress page.
The camera feels laggy. What can I do?
Tick Low power mode below the camera tile. It drops body-language sampling to a slower frame rate and is much easier on older laptops. You’ll still get all five body-language scores, just averaged over fewer frames.
After the interview — your report
Reading scores, downloading PDFs, and re-running an interview.
How do I read my score?
There are four headline numbers: Overall, Content (did you actually answer the question), Fluency (clarity, filler words, structure), and Body language(eye contact, posture, calmness). Anything 80+ is interview-ready; 60–79 means a few specific things to fix; below 60 means re-record and try again.
Where do I download my PDF report?
Right at the end of the interview, or any time from your progress page — every past session has a Latest PDF button. The PDF includes per-question feedback, a 7-day improvement plan, and body-language sub-scores.
I can't download my PDF — it says "not found".
Old reports written before May 2026 used to live on a server that wiped its disk on every backend deploy. We now regenerate the PDF on demand from your saved interview data, so even a missing file produces a working download. If the button still 404s, refresh the page once; if it persists, ask your TPO to run the “Migrate PDFs to durable storage” button in their admin panel.
Can I delete a past session?
Yes — students can request deletion through their college’s placement office and the data (transcripts, scores, body-language metrics) is wiped to comply with DPDP. The session shows up in TPO analytics as deleted with no recoverable content.
Apply Pack — Resume & Cover Letter
JD-tailored resumes, ATS scores, and when to write a cover letter.
What is an ATS score?
ATS stands for Applicant Tracking System — the software recruiters use to shortlist resumes. Our ATS score (0–100) reflects how well your resume matches the keywords and structure recruiters typically scan for. 80+ is strong, 60–79 is okay but worth polishing, and below 60 means the JD’s key skills aren’t showing up in your resume yet.
How do I improve my resume?
Fill out your profile in full first — the resume builder pulls from it. Then paste the actual job description in the resume builder; we rewrite your bullet points to mirror the JD’s language and surface your strongest matching projects.
When should I send a cover letter?
Always send one if the application form has a field for it, the company is non-mass-tech (consulting, finance, smaller product companies), or you’re a non-traditional fit. For TCS/Infosys/Wipro-style mass campus drives, the resume usually does the work and a cover letter is optional.
How is my resume tailored to a specific JD?
We analyse the JD for required skills, then re-rank your profile bullets so the most relevant projects and experiences appear first. The match report shows which JD keywords landed in your resume and which didn’t — useful for editing your profile to cover gaps.
For placement officers
Admin tools and cohort-level questions.
Where do I see my cohort's progress?
The TPO insights dashboard shows session counts, average scores, branch-wise readiness, and weak-topic areas. For the roster-level view, see the command centre; for resume + cover-letter activity, see the Apply Pack page.
How do I export the placement-readiness report?
Two CSV exports are available from your admin pages. The NAAC export (from command centre) is the official roster-level placement readiness for accreditation; the Apply Pack export (from the Apply Pack page) shows one row per student with their resume + cover letter status. Both are UTF-8 with a metadata header so they open cleanly in Excel.
A student says their PDF won't download — what do I do?
Most often this is a stale ephemeral PDF from before May 2026. Go to the admin setup panel and click Migrate PDFs to durable storage — it re-renders any stuck reports and uploads them to permanent storage in one click. Safe to re-run; rows already on durable storage are skipped.
Still stuck?
Email your college’s placement office or write to contact@praveshika.ai with the session ID from the URL — we’ll look at the actual session and get back to you within one working day.
